Asahiyama Yuki no Mura is a ski resort just one-minute-walk from the Asahiyama Zoo. Tourists and locals love this facility for casual skiing, snowboarding and sledding. The adjoining Asahiyama Zoo has a restaurant Kamuy-Cikap, serving Mongolian BBQ, pork rice bowl, miso ramen and other Hokkaido cuisines as well as sweets such as cakes and ice cream.
Asahiyama Yuki no Mura has a gentle slope, great for beginners and children’s practice on ski and snowboard. They have rental skis and sleds which relieves you from carrying heavy equipment while you are traveling.
Also, there is a tour on a grooming car which treads down snow on the slope, which climbs up about 1,500m in 15 minutes. It is another delight to look over Asahikawa City from the mountain top.
