Hakuba Happo One
The mountain, also the site of the Olympics once, where many activities can be experienced throughout the year.
Hakuba Happo One offers trekking and mountain climbing in summer, winter sports in the winter, and many other activities throughout the year. Hakuba Happo Onē is also famous for being used as the venue for the Alpine skiing competitions at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.
The trekking course is dotted with rare alpine plants and spectacular spots where you can see 11 of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, and on fine days, Mt. Fuji. The starting point of the course, Happoike Hut, can be reached by gondola or lift, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a stroll through the air. In winter, the ski resort becomes one of the largest ski resorts in Japan, and one of its attractions is that visitors can actually ski on the course used in the Olympics.
In addition, the "Usagidaira Terrace" offers a view of Hakuba Village while feeling the refreshing breeze, and the Hakuba Happo Hot Springs (Onsen), the only highly alkaline natural hydrogen hot spring in Japan, is also available, allowing visitors to enjoy the Hakuba Happo One area from morning to night.
