Ito Kyuemon “Uji Maccha Daifuku”

A neo Japanese sweets’ elegant taste flavored with green powder tea.

Last update :

In 1832, the end of the Edo period, Ito Kyuemon was established as a tea distributor. This shop is famous as a distributor purchasing high-quality powder tea from a contact farmer of Uji Matcha (Japanese green powder tea from Uji). Various Matcha sweets with Japanese and Western tastes have been launched these years and gained popularity.

Among of about 200 lined-up items, the most recommended one is “Uji Matcha Daifuku”, in which rich Matcha-An (green tea bean paste) is wrapped in Daifuku dough. Matcha-An is characteristic of its rich flavor and elegant sweetness carefully made by confectioners using strictly-selected Uji Matcha and Wasanbon sugar from Shikoku area. Adding cream at the end of manufacturing results in making a mild taste. Daifuku dough covering Matcha-An surprisingly keeps its soft taste even stored in cold storage by their own special manufacturing method. A good combination with cold or hot tea, enjoy the taste throughout the year. If you want to enjoy more special flavor and bitterness of Matcha’s special taste, add Mathca powder attached in a package.

The products come in packs of six, each carefully individually wrapped. It is the perfect size to give away as a small gifts or souvenirs.
