Shimizu Mountain Stream Square (Nomizo Waterfall / Kameiwa Cave)
The dreamy Kameiwa Cave with lights streaming in a heart shape.
This national park in Kimitsu City, Chiba became famous with an SNS post on Kameiwa Cave. The sunlight streams into the cave, reflects on the water and shines a heart shape on the cave wall.
You are most likely to see a clear heart shape in early mornings around the equinox in March and September. It must be a sunny day. The less windy, the prettier the heart shape. It is a choice scene made of different conditions coming together. Part of the area around the cave is off-limits - watch out when looking at the heart or taking photos.
There is a trail around the cave and you may be able to spot fireflies between June and August. Fall foliage and the beauty in different seasons is exhilarating. Walking beyond the cave, there is the “Lucky Bell” said to bring you good fortune. Find out many other tour spots other than the cave.
