Q

A

Hotel Tateyama is built at an altitude of 2,450 meters. Due to the low atmospheric pressure and thin air, even healthy people may experience symptoms of altitude sickness. To prevent altitude sickness, please drink water frequently. We also recommend that those with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart disease or high blood pressure consult their physician and come to the hotel in good physical condition.

Q

What kind of clothing should I wear?

A

Rain gear or heavy warm clothing is recommended in case of sudden weather changes or unforeseen circumstances. Temperatures are 12 to 15 degrees cooler than those in the plains (Toyama City), with average highs of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius in June and July. In the mornings and evenings, it can get as cold as 5°C. During the daytime, the sun shines strongly, but when the wind blows, it can feel chilly. A light sweater or sweatshirt and a windbreaker or something windproof are recommended. Boots or trekking shoes are recommended. Boots can be rented free of charge at the hotel (for guests staying at the hotel), so please ask for them.
