This park is loved by local residents as a place of relaxation. In addition to large playground equipment and a hill overlooking the Sea of Japan, the park also carries out initiatives themed around "the importance of coexisting with nature and the community, and the circulation of rich nature". These initiatives include a "Forest of Creation" where local elementary and junior high school students help to plant saplings grown from acorns.

The multipurpose plaza with large playground equipment boasts an area of approximately 1.9 hectares, making it ideal for spreading out a leisure sheet and having a picnic. Next to it is a barbecue area, which is bustling with people during the holiday season. This ocean-viewing hilltop offers vantages over the Sea of Japan and a truly breathtaking sight of the sunset as it sinks into the sea at dusk. The park also has the largest dog run in Niigata Prefecture that can be used for free, making it popular with dog owners.

The Kaga Highway that runs this park is now maintained as a promenade, keeping a historic namesake of the Maeda family of Kaga who once used this road as part of their daimyo procession during the days of the sankin kotai “alternate attendance” system. Today you’ll find a leisurely time away as you take in all the best of sea and nature.
