Restaurant Kassui-ken

A restaurant inside Koko-en, a Japanese garden designed to showcase Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set within Koko-en’s largest garden area, you can enjoy a meal while looking out over the strolling pond garden, “Oyashiki-no-Niwa.”

Here you can enjoy set meals, including the limited-quantity “Hime Gozen” and “Kanbei Gozen.” The most popular dishes feature conger eel, don’t miss sets with anago rice bowls or anago tempura served with udon or soba. Beyond meals, there’s also a rich lineup of local Harima sake, plus tasting sets for those who love Japanese sake. You’ll also find sweets like matcha sets and dessert sets, and seasonal shaved ice in summer, making it a great stop for a short break during your stroll.
