Opened in 2013 after renovating the former Kimura Sake Brewery, this expansive property has been transformed into a multi-purpose complex that includes a hotel, restaurant, café, and more.

Guest rooms are spread across six buildings throughout the town of Takeda, with a total of 13 rooms-each with a unique layout. Some rooms are restored kura storehouses, offering a sense of history and the passage of time. From the hotel, you can see the Takeda Castle Ruins, and the site is about a 50-minute walk away, making it an ideal base for sightseeing.

The restaurant’s concept is “Terroir et Nature.” As the words suggest-terroir meaning “local, regional” and nature meaning “natural”-the dishes make generous use of ingredients from the Tajima, Tamba, and Tango areas. The cuisine is created by Chef Ishii Yukihisa, a leading figure in the Kansai French culinary world. Chef Ishii has earned first place in the Kobe area’s restaurant category of the Zagat Survey for four consecutive years and holds the prestigious title of Disciple of Auguste Escoffier, awarded to distinguished chefs. Enjoying his dishes-prepared with an abundance of fresh ingredients from Tajima-is one of the highlights of staying at Hotel EN.

The grounds also host a local market selling vegetables harvested from nearby farms, homemade jams, miso, soy sauce, and more. Various events are held throughout the year, including workshops on furniture and crafts, as well as miso and soy sauce making. These activities offer memorable opportunities to interact with the local community.
