Nasu Senbonmatsu Ranch

The 130 year-old Nasu Senbonmatsu Ranch is a historic escape found nestled in the rich natural landscape of Nasu-Shiobara. Bent on its penchant for "coexistence with nature," the ranch spans 834 hectares and takes great care in producing its own feed for approximately 500 dairy cows, ensuring the quality from soil prep and beyond.

The ranch has a tourist-friendly zone with the famed Animal Interaction Plaza where you can swing by for a time away with fluffy friends like sheep, goats, and rabbits. There’s also horseback riding, cycling, and mini-golf, meaning there’s something for everyone. For the crafty at heart, you can even try your hand at activities like butter making and gel candle making.

The ranch produces about 8 tons of raw milk daily, and their homemade soft serve ice cream made from fresh milk is a must-try! The Farm Shop sells ice cream, yogurt, and handmade cheese produced in the on-site factory, as well as a variety of sausages, bacon, and other meat products, making great souvenirs.

Inside the ranch you’ll find a full-on Grill House restaurants that opened in 1964, said to be the oldest in Honshu to serve lamb dishes, as well as the onsite Farm Restaurant. Visitors can also enjoy Senbonmatsu Onsen and Ashiyu footbaths, making it a perfect place to spend the whole day.
