Yama no Hotel Musouen

Situated on a hill slightly away from the center of Yufuin Basin, Yama no Hotel Musouen is an onsen ryokan renowned for its spectacular views. The open-air baths offer stunning vistas of Mount Yufu and the natural scenery of the Yufuin Basin, providing a relaxing soak with a breathtaking backdrop. The ryokan is also praised for its delicious kaiseki meals rich in local flavors.

The ryokan features expansive open-air baths, with the women's bath spanning 150 tatami mats and the men's bath 100 tatami mats, ensuring a sense of freedom and space. The women's open-air bath offers an exceptional view of Mount Yufu. There are two men's open-air baths, each with a charming, rustic ambiance, including a thatched-roof building. Both men and women can also enjoy indoor baths and private baths available for families or groups.

Meals at Musouen highlight local ingredients in kaiseki-style cuisine. The menu changes monthly to feature seasonal ingredients, including Oita-grown Wagyu beef and fresh seafood from nearby waters. Breakfast is also a nutritious delight, featuring local ingredients. The accommodation is divided into three buildings: the New Wing, the Annex, and the Main Building, each offering rooms with distinct charm.
