Tazawako Lake Resort & Onsen

Located on the Tazawako Plateau at the foothills of Mount Akita-Komagatake, this resort hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Lake Tazawa area, with easy access to attractions such as Lake Tazawa, the Kakunodate Samurai District, and Dakigaeri Gorge.

The hotel features two hot spring baths: “Katakuri no Yu,” designed in the style of a traditional courtyard garden, and “Kokumasa no Yu,” a Japanese-style bath accented with pavilions and rock features. Both offer indoor and open-air baths, allowing guests to soak in simple alkaline hot spring waters while enjoying views that change with the seasons.

Meals highlight Akita specialties and local ingredients and are served buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner. Dinner features around 60 Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, along with local sake and craft beer. For breakfast, guests can enjoy gentle, nourishing options such as kiritanpo hot pot and Inaniwa udon, perfect for starting the day.

Guest rooms include Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, Japanese-Western hybrids, and pet-friendly options. The resort also offers a glamping field featuring mobile houses called “Jyubako,” produced by outdoor brand snow peak and world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, allowing guests to choose the style of stay that suits them best.
