As soon as you arrive in the lobby, you’re greeted by a sweeping panorama of Miyako Bay through wall-to-wall windows. From the lobby and ocean-facing rooms, one of the highlights is seeing the morning sun streaming in from the easternmost point of Honshu.

The hotel has 75 rooms, including Japanese-style rooms and Western-style rooms, as well as options like suites and view-bath rooms to suit different needs.

For dining, skilled chefs with deep knowledge of local ingredients prepare a variety of dishes using seasonal seafood and mountain ingredients from Iwate’s Sanriku area. The main style is buffet dining, so you can sample a little of many items, as much as you like.

Iwate’s local sake, known for producing many celebrated labels, is also not to be missed. Here, renowned Iwate sakes like “Nanbu Bijin,” “Tsukinowa,” “Senryo Otokoyama,” and “Yaezakura” make your meal even more enjoyable.

At the large public bath, “Sake no Yu,” with a view of the Pacific Ocean beyond red pines, you may be able to catch the sunrise during a morning bath, depending on the season.
