L’Hotel du Lac

Escape into the great outdoors of northern Lake Biwa with exceptional cuisine and nature

Last update :
Supervised by :  Arai Sangyo Co., Ltd.

An auberge-style hotel by Lake Biwa. With just 15 rooms on a vast 40,000-tsubo property, it offers a luxurious setting where you can truly unwind. Villas where you can stay with your dog are also available, making it a great choice for dog lovers.

Here, the hotel incorporates local ingredients mainly from northern Shiga Prefecture, and an international chef skillfully studies Japanese food culture through techniques such as fermentation and aging to serve “Kohoku Cuisine,” dishes you can only enjoy by coming here. Drinks are also arranged with herbs harvested in this area, so you can enjoy them even without alcohol.

The area is surrounded by great sightseeing spots. Nearby is the Kaizu Osaki Cherry Tree-Lined Road, which reaches its best viewing time in early April each year, offering beautiful scenery. Located in a place surrounded by a calm lakeside and rich nature, it’s also perfect for walks and cycling. It’s ideal for forgetting daily life and refreshing both mind and body.
