A must-visit spot for enjoying Bungo Beef, a premium local brand, prepared to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients.

Supervised by :  Washizu Farm Co., Ltd.

Perched at an elevation of around 900 meters, this restaurant is located at Asahidai, a scenic viewpoint surrounded by the majestic Kuju mountain range. It is operated by Washizu Ranch, a producer of Oita’s premium brand beef, Bungo Beef, and offers a wide variety of dishes made with carefully raised, high-quality beef.

In addition to the highly recommended Oita Wagyu Steak Set, the menu features more casual yet satisfying options such as a grilled beef rice bowl, Bungo Beef croquette set, and Bungo Beef curry, all of which are well worth trying. During pleasant seasons, guests can also enjoy their meals on the open terrace, which is praised for its outstanding sense of openness and views.

Great care is taken not only with the beef but also with other ingredients. The rice is specially cultivated Koshihikari, grown by trusted local farmers, and meal preparation uses mineral-rich natural spring water sourced from Mt. Kuzuhira, the headwaters of the Chikugo River.

After your meal, take time to interact with the animals kept on the property, or enjoy fruit picking at the on-site blueberry farm, which is open for about one month starting in early July.
