Studio Clan sits poised in the retro shopping district of Honcho in Chuo Ward, Niigata City. This photography studio offers standout service, handling Oiran shoots and more with one-on-one guidance by award-winning makeup and kimono professionals. The studio stands heralded as the only studio in Japan specializing in Oiran photography, drawing visitors from across Japan and abroad.

The studio hosts a full range of styles to try, ranging from classic Oiran styles to creatively arranged outfits. Guests can also choose between styles like maiko, junihitoe robes, or even traditional white bridal kimono. Unlike simple tourist costume experiences, sessions here are infused with high art value in every photo. Pick and choose from a full album of options with help from experienced staff ready to share any makeup suggestions and more for a polished look. For something more out of the box there’s even Taisho-era romantic styles, gothic themes and other popular options. Book a session for up to two people, especially if planning a men’s shoot in special samurai-style garb.

A standard plan takes approximately two and a half hours. Full plans include shots in two different booths over a course of about four hours, while creative plans may take up to half-day. Final prints are prepared as digital files with turn around times between same and three days.
