Wazuka Tea Fields
Enjoy the beautiful tea fields that evoke Japan’s classic rural scenery.
Located in southern Kyoto Prefecture, Wazuka is known as one of the main production areas of Uji tea, accounting for Approx. half of the prefecture’s tea production. Its beautiful tea field landscapes, preserved since the Kamakura period, are stunning and were registered as Kyoto Prefecture Scenic Asset No. 1. Surrounded by abundant nature, the town’s peaceful atmosphere warmly welcomes visitors.
Tourist spots are scattered throughout the town, including Ishidera Tea Fields, the most famous site in Wazuka and often used in promotional materials, and Shibarahara Tea Fields, where rows of tea bushes stretch across the steep slopes like a patchwork.
