Founded in 1935, Abe Kamaboko Ten in Miyagi is also known for coining the name of Sendai’s famous “sasa kamaboko.” “Cheese Ball,” a steamed fish cake filled with cream cheese, is one of its most popular items alongside sasa kamaboko.

Made with high-quality fish paste and baked until fluffy, this pure white, ball-shaped steamed fish cake releases melty cream cheese from the center when you take a bite. You can enjoy the springy texture of the fish cake and the rich flavor of the cream cheese. The size is just right, making it perfect for a quick snack, a treat for kids, or something to enjoy with drinks.

Available individually (in stores only), as well as in packs of 5 or 8 in a special bag. All options are individually wrapped, making them convenient for souvenirs. They keep for Approx. 1 week refrigerated.

A premium sister product, “Zao Cheese Ball,” made with 100% “Zao Cream Cheese” in collaboration with Zao Dairy Center, another company based in Miyagi Prefecture, is also popular.
