Uda Yakuto no Yado Yatakiya
Refresh yourself with herbal baths and delicious food at an inn surrounded by nature.
This auberge makes use of a traditional thatched-roof house built Approx. 300 years ago, nestled in the satoyama countryside of Uda City, Nara Prefecture. Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of the Yamato Plateau at an elevation of Approx. 400 meters, it offers a refreshing stay for both body and mind.
Choose from four guest rooms, each with its own character. Kagero, a renovated kura storehouse room, features soft lighting and is also perfect for solo stays. Koraku, where you can feel the mountains close by, has high ceilings and an open, airy atmosphere. Its bathroom also comes with a private terrace. Manyo overlooks a peaceful rural landscape and also allows stays with pets. Maho, the largest room, faces the inn’s signature garden, and the bathroom terrace offers views of the thatched roof scenery. Every guest room includes a cypress-lined bathroom with a Shigaraki ware bathtub. You can enjoy a herbal bath using the inn’s original bath additive blended with leaves of Yamato toki grown in Uda, an area known as a town of medicinal herbs.
Meals also feature Yamato toki leaves. In addition, you can enjoy Italian cuisine made with carefully selected ingredients, centered on pesticide-free and organic vegetables grown on the farm on the property. The breakfast, which highlights Nara’s local specialty chagayu rice porridge, is also worth trying.
There is also a wide range of experience programs led by staff certified in health tourism, allowing guests to improve their well-being while connecting with nature.
