The downhill course, with a vertical drop of about 800 meters and a total length of 3,000 meters, features continuous steep slopes that challenge advanced skiers. At the foot of the mountain, there is a net-enclosed “Kids’ Trail” for children, while the long 5.3 km run from the ropeway summit includes a “Slow Zone.” With areas divided by skill level, the resort ensures that beginners and children can enjoy skiing safely and comfortably.

The Hakkaisan Ropeway, located within the resort, takes you to the summit in about seven minutes. It also operates during the green season, offering special events such as the “Sea of Clouds Viewing Ropeway” in the morning and the “Dog-Friendly Ropeway Ride,” where pets can join. Around the resort, you will find pensions, as well as hot spring inns and hotels scattered throughout the city.

(1) From Haneda Airport: about 18 minutes by Tokyo Monorail Airport Rapid to Hamamatsucho Station. Transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to Tokyo Station. From there, take the Joetsu Shinkansen (about 90 min) to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, then transfer to the JR Joetsu Line (about 20 min) to Muikamachi Station. From there, about 30 minutes by local bus.
