Located at the entrance to Oirase Stream, which flows from Lake Towada, this nature information center offers an easy-to-understand introduction to how the stream was formed, along with the surrounding plants, animals, and ecosystem through panels, photographs, dioramas, and digital signage. Stop by before your walk to learn about seasonal wildflowers and mosses currently at their best, as well as other highlights, for a deeper appreciation of your stroll along the stream. At the information center, nature guides with extensive knowledge of Oirase Stream are always on hand to offer advice on walking routes and plant observation.

The museum shop sells nature-themed interior items and crafts inspired by the stream, including moss terrariums and mushroom accessories. There is also an attached Aomori apple specialty store called “Ara, Ringo.”, where you can enjoy sweets and drinks made with apples from Aomori Prefecture. You’ll also find a wide selection of bottled drinks, jams, baked sweets, and other items that make perfect souvenirs.
