Cafe Terrace Horonbail
One of Aomori's three great soft serves, enjoyed with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.
Cape Ashigezaki Observation Deck stands on a cape in front of Samekado Lighthouse. Once used by the former Japanese military as a radar and surveillance facility, the deck offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and is known as one of the best viewpoints along the Tanesashi Coast.
Cafe Terrace "Horonbail," located just before the observation deck, offers a wide menu selection including curry, pasta, and drinks. Its soft serve ice cream is especially popular, so much so that it is known as one of "Aomori's Three Great Soft Serves." On weekends, during Golden Week, and over summer vacation, locals, tourists, and beachgoers gather here, and long lines often form outside the shop.
Starting with the rich milk-flavored "Makiba," made with fresh cream and the shop's most popular choice, the cafe also offers a full lineup of original soft serves such as banana and muskmelon. You can choose from a cone, waffle cone, or cup, and there are plenty of ways to enjoy them, including mixed combinations of popular flavors like "Makiba" and strawberry or vanilla and chocolate, as well as the twin option (a two-tier serving), where you can freely combine any two flavors you like.
