Yamazaki River Four Seasons Road

A scenic promenade where you can enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year, including cherry blossoms in spring.

Last update :

This is one of Nagoya’s most famous cherry blossom spots, selected as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan.” In spring, Approx. 550 cherry trees bloom along the 2.5 km stretch of both banks of the Yamazaki River from Ishikawa Bridge to Ochiai Bridge, creating a tunnel of blossoms over the riverside promenade. Around the wooden Kanae-kobashi Bridge, many old cherry trees still remain, making it a particularly popular area where you can enjoy the view of blossoms reflected on the water. During the peak blooming season, the Approx. 120 m section from Kanae Bridge to Kanae-kobashi Bridge is illuminated at night, offering a magical atmosphere that feels completely different from daytime. Near Tanabe Park, you can also walk down to the riverbank, allowing you to appreciate the blossoms from various angles.

The section from Ishikawa Bridge to Kanae Bridge is known as the “Spring Path”, from Kanae Bridge to Soden Bridge as the “Summer Path”, and from Soden Bridge to Kawana Bridge as the “Autumn Path”, each lined with seasonal flowers. Pocket parks, drinking fountains, and benches are also set up along the river, making it an ideal place for a relaxing stroll.
