You have to do a bit of climbing, but once you're up there, you get an amazing view of Lake Biwa and the mountains. On clear days, the scenery is super wide and open. At night, you can catch the night view—it's really romantic. It's not crowded at all, so it's quiet and perfect if you want to get away from the noise and just enjoy the scenery.

Gliding slowly down the canal on a small boat, you pass by these really well-preserved old warehouse buildings—it feels like stepping back into the Edo period. The boatman gives little explanations as he rows, which adds to the laid-back vibe. On sunny days, the reflections of the buildings on the water are beautiful, and at night, the lights make it super romantic. It's perfect for taking photos and also for soaking up the local history at a relaxed pace.

The sulfur smell here is pretty strong, so it’s different from most Japanese hot springs I’ve been to.

The fast currents and impressive whirlpools, plus the sight of the sea water constantly surging—this is a really unique spot.

With time, a lot of childhood memories have faded away, but I was amazed at how well everything—people, places, and things—has been preserved in this old street. It's all still so beautiful.
