  • The runs are planned out pretty well. Beginners to intermediate skiers can have a lot of fun without feeling intimidated the moment they get up there.
The lift ride is smooth too. Best part: on a clear day you can see Mt. Iwate. Skiing with that view is a huge plus—you’ll keep wanting to stop and take photos.

  • Absolutely spectacular! As soon as you get there, you’re greeted by an endless blue ocean. The horizon where the sea meets the sky is so soothing, and on a clear day the view feels incredibly wide, like you’re standing at the edge of the world. The sea breeze is really strong, so hold onto your hat. The photos turn out amazing too. Definitely worth adding to your Hokkaido itinerary!

  • They have all kinds of antique and unique music boxes on display, and you can even enjoy live performances. The sound is so clear and soothing. The atmosphere feels both romantic and cozy—perfect for a date or a family outing. Listening to music while taking in the lake view just melts all your stress away!

The basement food court is a real highlight! Tons of choices—desserts, bentos, sushi, you name it!

The noodles have the perfect texture, and the soup is just the right richness. Super satisfying.

  • Goryokaku Park is the most beautiful spot in Hokkaido for cherry blossoms. It's a famous place in Hakodate for sakura viewing.

  • It's not just the exhibits inside that are worth seeing—the museum building itself has a lot of history and is definitely worth a visit.

There's a special cabin on the boat that you have to pay extra for, but honestly, I felt it was a bit of a waste. I ended up spending most of my time on the upper deck enjoying the views and taking photos.

  • It's super crowded on weekends and holidays. Some of the more popular restaurants have really long waits during meal times. It's a lot better on weekdays, though.
