Shizukuishi Ski Resort

Shizukuishi Ski Resort is located in Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture. In 1993, it served as the venue for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, establishing its reputation as a world-class ski resort. Its signature attraction is the downhill course, with a maximum length of 2,648 meters and varied terrain. A total of 16 courses are available, ensuring fun for beginners, advanced skiers, and families alike.

Gran Snow Okuibuki

One of the largest ski resorts in the Kansai area, popular in Japan and abroad for its premium powder snow and a world-record snowfall of 11.82 meters. The resort has two areas: the Family Slope, suitable for beginners to advanced skiers, and the Main Course and Variety Slope, served by Japan’s fastest high-speed lift. With artificial snowmaking and snow enhancement machines producing as much as 525 tons of snow per day, the resort can stay open for an extended season.

Kobe Oji Zoo

A municipal zoo located in Nada Ward, central Kobe, set against the lush greenery of the Rokko mountain range. It is home to Approx. 650 animals from around 120 species, including popular animals from around the world such as elephants, giraffes, and koalas, all viewable up close. It is especially known as one of the few zoos in Japan where you can see koalas.

Futagami Mountain Manyo Line

Mt. Futagami, with an elevation of Approx. 274 meters, stands near the border between Takaoka City and Himi City in Toyama Prefecture. The Futagami Mountain Manyo Line is an Approx. 8-kilometer scenic driving route that runs along the mountain ridge. On clear days, it offers spectacular views of Toyama Bay and the Noto Peninsula on one side, and the Tateyama Mountain Range on the other. From the observation deck near the summit, you can take in a panoramic view of Takaoka City.

Cape Chikyu

A scenic cape jutting into the Pacific Ocean from the southernmost tip of the Etomo Peninsula in Muroran, Hokkaido, where you can look out over the Pacific from cliffs rising more than 100 meters high. The cape offers a sweeping 360-degree panorama, and on clear days you can see Hokkaido Komagatake, Mount Esan in Hakodate, and even the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture. If you're lucky, you may also spot dolphins and whales migrating through the area from spring to summer.

Hamanako Orgel Museum

The museum showcases around 70 automatic instruments, including music boxes from the 19th to early 20th centuries, self-playing pianos and organs, automata (mechanical dolls), and phonographs. Perched atop Mt. Okusa on the shores of Lake Hamana, the museum is connected by a ropeway that glides across the lake.
