  • One of the most famous temples in Kyoto. Standing on the Kiyomizu Stage, you get a great view of the city. The stage is built with 139 solid wooden pillars and not a single nail—such impressive craftsmanship has been perfectly preserved.

  • A well-known hot spring area in Hokkaido. There are lots of fun spots nearby, like Mt. Usu, Showa Shinzan, and a bear ranch.

  • It's 2.6 kilometers from 1-chome to 7-chome, packed with everything you could want—food, shopping, and entertainment. This is the heart of daily life and shopping for people in Osaka.

  • This is the golden train route for cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall.

  • The whole shrine is built over the sea. When the tide is low, you can walk right up to the torii gate for photos. I saw lots of lucky coins stuffed at the base of the gate.

  • There were way too many tour groups. You have to line up and organize before entering. The front of Kinkaku-ji is packed with visitors, so it's really hard to take photos.
