Loved by Fukuoka locals for more than 40 years. Tonkotsu Ramen speciality shop “Fukuchan Ramen”
Fukuchan Ramen is passionately loved and supported by the locals of Fukuoka. If you ask them where to go to eat a bowl of decent Ramen, no one would hesitate to tell you about this shop. So be prepared to line up in front.
When I went there it was as busy as usual. When planning to eat here factor in that it takes some time before you`re seated.
Ramen ¥600
I felt grateful that a popular Ramen shop like this keeps their prices reasonable.
This shop is known for giving a generous amount of broth as well.
You can use the complimentary toppings of garlic, bean sprouts, and Chinese chives. Many customers love to crush the garlic and put it in the soup!
Alright! I sipped the soup. I tasted a rich Tonkotsu(pork bone) base with a hint of soy sauce.
I don’t like really rich soup but this soup was so tasty I couldn’t stop sipping it!
The noodles were straight and had a medium thickness.
This kind of noodle matched the soup perfectly.
You can also ask for “Kaedama” which means additional noodles. It`s only an additional ¥100.
Chashyu (BBQ pork) is stewed until it`s really tender, I could taste the flavour of the meat.
Other than Ramen, the fried rice (¥450) is very popular here. Don’t miss out !
