4 Recommended Cherry Blossom Spots in Yamaguchi Prefecture
Yamaguchi Prefecture is the westernmost prefecture on Honshu. It is home to many scenic spots with beautiful scenery, but this article will focus on cherry blossom spots that can only be seen in their full glory between late March and early April.
1. Kintai Bridge
Kintai Bridge has been designated as a National Scenic Location of Japan, and it is also one of Japan’s Three Famous Bridges.
The area’s scenery, combining the beautiful Kintai Bridge and the cherry blossoms, is absolutely stunning.
At night the bridge is lit up, creating a fantastical atmosphere.
2. Tokusa Hachimangu Shrine
Tokusa Hachimangu Shrine is famous for its weeping cherry trees. Both sides of the road approaching the shrine, which is about 370 meters long, are lined with weeping cherry trees and Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom, creating a tunnel of cherry blossoms. Every year, a cherry blossom festival is held while the flowers are at their peak beauty, packing the area with visitors.

3. Tokiwa Park
During springtime, around 3,500 cherry trees, mostly Yoshino cherry, are in full bloom in Tokiwa Park. It has also been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots.
The park is also home to facilities including an amusement park, a zoo, and a museum, so be sure to take in everything the park has to offer alongside the cherry blossoms!

4. Kozan Park, Rurikoji Five-Storied Pagoda
Kozan Park is home to around 170 cherry trees that burst into full bloom. During the springtime, visitors can take in the spectacular view of Rurikoji, a five-storied pagoda and a national treasure located within the park, alongside the cherry blossoms. It is also lit up at night, so you can take in an even more stunning view.
