This Popular Fukuoka Restaurant Gives Free Seconds of Eggs and Coffee! “Ikkaku Shokudo”
In Fukuoka, a gourmet city, exists “Ikkaku Shokudo Tenjin,” a popular restaurant with the locals.
They don’t cut corners with the food, service, or freebies.
This restaurant meets the high expectations of food in Fukuoka!
Location of “Ikkaku Shokudo”
Ikkaku Shokudo is located about 1 minute on foot from the Nanakuma Line’s Watanabe-dori Station.
It is located on the first basement floor of the building.
Ikkaku Shokudo has a chic atmosphere, and it’s welcoming even to patrons who come alone!
Ikkaku Shokudo’s Menu
The menu has so many options, it’s hard to choose! Of course, they have staple meat-based dishes like hamburger steak, kara-age, and beef stew, but there are plenty of fish-based dishes too. They also offer things like noodle dishes and curry.
What surprised me about Ikkaku Shokudo was that hot tea, coffee, pickles, raw eggs, and condiments are all available for free!
Incidentally, eggs sold in Japan are assumed to be used in raw applications, so sanitation control allows for them to be safe to eat!
Sirloin Steak and Sesame Mackerel Set Meal
Sirloin Steak and Sesame Mackerel Set Meal (Rice, Miso Soup, and Dessert Included) 1,500 yen
The steak had a good amount of chew, and it really was delicious!
The steak was delicious as-is, but it became even more delicious when paired with this sauce filled with grated daikon!
The other main item I ordered was sesame mackerel.
Sesame mackerel is a Fukuoka specialty, made by serving mackerel in a sesame soy sauce.
Delicious! The natural sweetness of the sesame paired amazingly with the mackerel!
The accompanying salad is full of a variety of ingredients, including squash, carrots, cabbage, mizuna, lotus root, and green pepper!
Hamburger Steak Set

If you end up unsure of what to order off of the wide variety of menu options, I recommend the hamburger steak.
The delicious juices of the meat mixed with the demiglace sauce. Truly a delicious dish!
When ordering, you have the choice between demiglace, tomato, and Japanese-style sauces.
The miso soup had an egg in it. The soft-boiled yolk was delightful!
I ordered another helping of rice for free, and this time I tried adding some of the all-you-can-eat raw egg and soy sauce on it to make “tamago kake gohan.”
Dessert After the Meal
Dessert is included in the set menus. This time I got a delicious lemon no-bake cheesecake.
I also got a free refill on my coffee.
Around lunchtime, Ikkaku Shokudo does plenty of business with customers who work in the surrounding area.
If you avoid the busy time from 12:00 to 13:00, you should be able to take your time and enjoy your meal, so I recommend visiting outside of those hours.
Lunch is served until 16:00.
