Shimizu Park
The park with the theme “Always friends with nature”, where you can enjoy the outdoors.
In 1894, the park was opened and designated as one of the 100 cherry blossom scenic places and is famous in Kanto Region for amazing rhododendrons. 500 species of flowers, such as the plum, peony, wisteria, bloom throughout four seasons.
The park offers an athletic field, camping and BBQ facilities, a pony ranch, an Aqua-Venture zone and Flower Fantasia areas (each with a fee) where children and adults can enjoy a variety of attractions all year.
The athletic field is the largest in Japan with 100 kinds of equipment, all handmade by the staff. They paid careful attention to details such as corners of wooden poles shaved round to reduce injuries. The Antlion Pit Running where you can run on sloped logs, Water Surface Running for you to run on rafts, and Water Ropeway are popular.
You can bring your own table, chairs, and grill to the BBQ facility. The open space in the grove lets you feel like you are camping even in your day trip.
