With an exterior resembling a ryokan, Kawachiya boasts a tasteful interior and beautiful courtyard. In addition to the eel dishes they are proud to share, this refined ryotei of venerable standing offers carp and river fish cuisine.
It covers a wide area of over 400 seats divided into a large cafeteria and many private rooms.
Conveniently located for Taishakuten worshippers, the 120-seat cafeteria at the entrance to the shrine approach lets you relax and enjoy a meal.
The fragrant aroma of the sauce used for grilling the eel wafts throughout the restaurant.
Their popular Eel rice box is made by slicing fresh eel, steaming it, dipping it in a sweet sauce and turning it over several times while grilling.
Although it usually takes time to prepare eel Kabayaki, they can serve it faster, thanks to their maintenance of the best conditions for cooking it.
The secret sauce, which has been passed down from one generation to the next, makes a masterpiece of the eel expertly grilled by their chefs.
After savoring a delicious and relaxing meal, we recommend a stroll in the courtyard.
Enjoy the atmosphere of this place, which matches the taste of Japanese cuisine.
