There's a metal walkway that takes you up to the highest point on Kume Island. The castle ruins themselves are just some broken walls, but honestly, the views of the ocean and the whole island are way more impressive...

Uegusuku Castle Ruins
A Must-See Kume Island Scenic Spot! These castle ruins are located at the highest point in Okinawa Prefecture.
The Uegusuku Castle Ruins sit on Kume Island, around 100 kilometers west of Okinawa’s main island.
Perched on the 310 meter-high summit of Uegusuku-Dake, the tallest point on Kume Island, the ruins are seated at the highest point of all castle ruins across Okinawa.
The view from the castle ruins is truly picturesque. You can see the entire island of Kume Island in 360 degrees, and on a clear day, you can see Hate no Hama and neighboring islands. The castle ruins are on a small hill, but you can drive up to the top.
A fence has been set up for safety reasons, and the castle walls are prone to collapse, so do not attempt to climb over them. A large amount of Chinese-imported ceramics and porcelain has been found in the vicinity of the castle ruins. Excavations are ongoing.
