The park is currently under renovation. It is scheduled to reopen by the end of March 2025.
Below Mt Kinka with Gifu Castle on top, this park is loved as an oasis for residents and tourists.
Saito Dosan and Oda Nobunaga, the lords of Gifu Castle during the civil war, are said to have residences here. You can see valuable historical properties such as the stone walls from Dosan’s era and Oda’s residential ruin which excavation is going on (as of July, 2021).
Under the theme of “The Historical Park where You can Hear Nobunaga’s Heart Beat,” it is being renovated. On the vast ground at the foot of the mountain, there are also an information center in the samurai residence design, Japanese-style Nobunaga’s Garden, Gifu City Museum of History, visitors’ rest house, Kato Eizo/Toichi Memorial Art Museum, Nawa Insect Museum and more. The trail entrance to the top of Mt. Kinka and Mt. Kinka Ropeway gate are also in the park.
