Akebonoyama Agricultural Park
The beautiful seasonal flowers that bloom throughout the vast garden are a must-see!
It is an agricultural park known for its flower garden with a windmill. The seasonal flowers welcome you in each season, starting with cherry blossoms and tulips in spring, then approximately 300 hydrangeas in summer. In the pond in front of the windmill, white and pink water lilies bloom in midsummer. In autumn, pretty white, yellow, pink, and red cosmos cover the entire 2.2-hectare garden, and the violas that herald the arrival of winter are also exceptionally beautiful. In addition to the planted flowers, wild flowers such as Kyo-Kanoko (Japanese meadowsweet) and Egonoki (Japanese snowbell), which are scattered throughout the park all year round, are also a highlight!
The new “Akebono Beach Park” opened in 2021. Visitors can order all of the ingredients and enjoy a BBQ on an authentic American-style grill at the facility. There is a vegetable garden at the site, visitors can enjoy the BBQ while also harvesting vegetables (1,000 yen per adult, 880 yen per elementary school student, 550 yen per preschooler).
A wide variety of events are held on a regular basis, such as workshops, free access to the lawn, tea ceremonies, and nature craft displays. Be sure to check the official website beforehand for the latest information on events.
