Great Seto Bridge connects Okayama Prefecture on the main Island and Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku Island. This name is for all the six bridges that stretch for 9.4km (5.8 miles) over the channel. Different types such as suspension bridge, cable-stayed bridge, and truss bridge are connected together. The greatest in scale in the world as both the road and railway bridge.
To take in the grand view of Great Seto Bridge, go to Yoshima Parking Area, which is near the center of Seto Chuo Expressway over the channel. From the observation platform, you can enjoy the fascinating view of the Seto Inland Sea and the Bridge. Also, the scenery is breath-taking from the Seto Ohashi Tower in the Seto Ohashi Memorial Park or from Okayama’s symbol, Mt. Washu’s highest point, “Shoshuho” Peak.
Of all the Great Seto Bridges, Kita-bisen Seto Ohashi offers a tour to the top with a reservation. Look over the Seto Inland Sea from the tower top 175m (574 feet) above the Sea.
Around weekends, the Bridge is illuminated for your romantic outing at night.
