Last update :

Located in the southwest part of Shodoshima, "Angel Road" is a sandy path that appears twice a day at low tide, connecting four islands. It's a popular spot bustling with tourists, thanks to rumors that any two people walking hand-in-hand along the path will be blessed with happiness in the future. It's also frequently used as a filming location for movies and dramas.

The "Promised Hill Observatory," located at the top of Benten Island, the closest island to the path, is a perfect spot for overlooking Angel Road. Chosen as a "Lover's Sanctuary" from romantic spots around the country, couples can ring bells and hang wishing plaques here. The path can only be crossed on foot two hours before and after low tide. Don't forget to check the tide table, which lists the times of low tide, on the Tonosho Town website. Keep in mind that Nakayo Island and Koyojima are private property, and Oyojima is an international campsite, so unauthorized entry is not allowed.

Near the tourist information center and shop located just before Angel Road, there are a "Angel's Post" where they will stamp your mailed items with a special postmark, and a bench with a monument that represents angel's wings.
