This hot spring facility opened in 2017 as a base for introducing a new hot spring culture. Under the theme of "Ancient Dogo," the building incorporates architectural styles from the Asuka Period, which is appropriate for Dogo Onsen, Japan's oldest hot spring. In this facility, you can fully enjoy the hot water from the source, which is neither heated nor watered, and there are many elements not found in the main building, such as an open-air bath.
There are several bathing courses, with different bathrooms and break rooms available.
The most luxurious "Upstairs Special Bath (Family Bath)" course allows you to take a bath in the large essential bath. In addition, you can enjoy a bathroom and break room that replicates the " Yūshinden," a bathroom in the main building for the exclusive use of the Imperial Family, so you can feel like a celebrity. You can also wear an old-fashioned yukata in the bathtub. After taking a bath, you can enjoy tea and sweets in the break room dedicated to the unique bathrooms on the second floor.
The museum is decorated with traditional crafts of Ehime such as Tobe-Yaki ware, Sakurai-Shikki lacquerware, and Kikuma-Gawara roof tiles, drawing you into the world of beauty.
