Near the Matsushima Coast, along the National Highway Route 45, a tourist market is run by a Kesennuma-based company who owns large tuna boats. They sell their proud tuna, oyster, sea squirt, Kinka mackerel, saury from Kesennuma, and 1500 species in all.
The 1st floor of the main building is a shopping area of fresh seafood, always lively with tourists and shoppers from Sendai City. Light meals are available and the original menu, Matsushima Oyster Burger, is popular. The buns made of Sasanishiki rice from Tome City sandwiches cream croquette with oyster, unique and tasty. Meka Katsu Burger using swordfish from Kesennuma is also a must-try.
The 2nd floor has an area that sells processed food such as fish cake and canned fish as well as eating space with 120 seats. Kesennuma is known for the luxury food, shark fin. You can try it in ramen, sushi or a seafood rice bowl.
In the parking lot, there is an oyster grill called Yakigaki House, serving all-you-can-eat grilled oyster for 3,300 yen/45min as well as a la carte such as oyster au gratin and a set menu such as grilled oyster and oyster rice.
