The shop is part of KANEIRI Co., Ltd., a company whose origins trace back to the late Edo period when a merchant named Fukutaro, who ran a fishmonger under the Nambu domain, received the surname "Kaneiri" from a feudal lord, becoming Kaneiri Fukutaro.
