Tsuruya Karuizawa Store

A local supermarket chain based mainly in Nagano Prefecture, Tsuruya is loved by locals and also popular among tourists looking to buy fresh local ingredients.

Inside the store, a 50-meter-long produce section overflows with a wide variety of fresh vegetables, including highland vegetables unique to the Shinshu region. There are also over 800 Tsuruya original brand products, such as dried fruits, jams, and even the “Shinshu Highland Beer,” developed in collaboration with Yo-Ho Brewing. Many of these items are available only at Tsuruya, making them perfect souvenirs from Karuizawa.

The store also features a bakery offering over 50 kinds of freshly baked bread, as well as an in-store branch of Karuizawa’s iconic café, Mikado Coffee, where you can enjoy your purchases at terrace seating in the back.

In addition, the Tsuruya Online Store sells original products and seasonal gift sets, allowing you to purchase items without having to visit in person.
