BUTTER SAND LAB Karuizawa

Opened in March 2022 right in front of Nakakaruizawa Station, this takeout butter sandwich specialty store creates sandwiches so cute they're almost too good to eat, each one handcrafted to resemble a parfait.

For the sandwich ingredients, they use "grass-fed butter," which is rich in beneficial unsaturated fatty acids, as well as a bounty of Shinshu (another name for Nagano) wheat, fruits, and nuts. The cookies, slowly baked at low temperatures, have a crisp texture that perfectly complements the light and melt-in-your-mouth butter.

There are six flavors available, including "Nagano Purple & Cabernet Sauvignon" (515 yen) using three types of grapes like "Nagano Purple" and "Shinshu Fully Ripe Strawberry" (495 yen) featuring the richly sweet "Shiny Sweet" strawberries. Each flavor offers a gentle taste that allows the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine, captivating many patrons.

Additionally, they offer the "Special Karuizawa BOX" gift set (3,520 yen onwards) where you can combine six of your favorite flavors. The adorable box, reminiscent of Karuizawa's forests, is perfect for gifts and souvenirs.
