They started as a diner in 1965 in front of Kousanji-Temple on Ikuchijima Island. The second and third generations of the family now run the restaurant, which has become famous for its delicious local cuisine using Setoda's specialty octopus and lemons.
The first-class octopus, which eats abundant food in clean seawater and has been firmed up by the currents, is firm and elastic, and the more you bite into it, the more its delicious flavor spreads in your mouth. The most popular dish, "Tako Ten-don Tamagotoji" (1,650 yen), is an original dish of freshly fried, crispy octopus tempura with a soft, fluffy egg over the rice. Others recommend the "Tako-Meshi(octopus rice)" (1,250 yen), which has been popular ever since the establishment of the restaurant. You can enjoy tasting various octopus parts such as the "Octopus Sashimi" (1,200 yen) and the "Octopus full course" (3,600 yen), which you can enjoy a variety of octopus cuisine.
On the other hand, Setoda Lemon produces the largest amount of lemons in Japan, so be sure to try the "Nama Shibori Lemon Sour cocktail" (650 yen) or "Marugoto Lemon Squash soda" (550 yen), which are full of freshness. Also, check out the original "Setoda Lemon Nabe Hot Pot" (from 5,100 yen for two people *reservations required). Lemon slices line the surface of the hot pot, and you can enjoy a refreshing taste of pork, vegetables, etc., with Setouchi seafood at the top of the list.
Of course, dishes other than octopus and lemon are also very tasty and are often visited by residents.
