Shiratama-no-yu Kahou
A luxurious moment spent in an extraordinary space with the charm of wholehearted hospitality.
Tsukioka Onsen is impressive for its hot water, which is renowned for its excellent moisturizing properties and "the hot spring that makes you more beautiful," as well as for its Japanese-style townscape. The most popular of these, Hakudama-no-yu Kahou, is a large ryokan (Japanese-style inn) with a total of 109 rooms that stands on top of a small hill.
The emerald green "Shiratama-no-yu" is a sulfur spring with one of the highest content of sulfur in Japan, and is very effective for beautiful skin. Connected by a wooden deck, the hotel offers a variety of outdoor baths, including a rock bath and a cypress bath, as well as a spacious indoor bath and a large sauna. The quality of the spring water can also be fully enjoyed in the private spa.
A variety of room types are available, including corner suites with one room on each floor, Japanese-style bed rooms, and Western-style rooms, where guests can enjoy different views of the magnificent nature, rural landscape, and large gardens, depending on the room. The "Bettei Koshi no Sato," with a total of 20 suites, is also popular. The Japanese-style kaiseki cuisine, which makes abundant use of the bounty of nature in Niigata, one of the country's greatest culinary treasures, is also not to be missed.
In addition to the indoor swimming pool, lounge, and esthetic salon, there is a large garden of approximately 6,000 tsubo on the premises. The luxury of a ryokan combined with the convenience of a hotel makes this an attractive ryokan where you can spend a relaxing time.
