Rokko-Arima Ropeway
A 12-minute aerial stroll to feel the great nature of Kobe.
The ropeway connects Arima Onsen, one of the three oldest hot springs in Japan and one of the three best springs in Japan, to the top of the national park Mt. Rokko. The ropeway is popular for its dynamic view of the magnificent landscape below, which changes its appearance from season to season: cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snow in winter. The autumn foliage is particularly spectacular, and visitors can enjoy the beautiful gradation of autumn colors as the yellow of the beech trees near the top of Mt. Rokko gradually changes to the vermilion of the maple trees as they approach Arima Onsen.
In March 2020, a new gondola made by CWA of Switzerland made its debut. It is well known for its large glass windows that allow visitors to feel the magnificent natural scenery up close.
There are many attractions on Mt. Rokko, including "Rokko Athletic Park GREENIA", one of the largest athletic parks in Japan, "Rokko Garden Terrace", which offers a spectacular night view reputed to be worth 10 million dollars, and "Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden". "The Rokko Mountain Bus" is also conveniently available near the top of the mountain.
