Roadside Station Shodoshima Olive Park

This park is popular for its Mediterranean-like scenery and excellent facilities. There are many photo spots that make you want to take pictures, such as a white windmill perched on a hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea and an English garden with approximately 120 varieties of herbs and roses in full bloom.

Shodoshima Island was the location for the movie "Kiki's Delivery Service”. The building used as a location set remains as it was, and is now open as a store selling handmade accessories and sundries. Many tourists use brooms, which are available for free rental, to take pictures as if they were flying in the sky as the witches in the movie.

The restaurant "Sun Olive" offers locally produced and locally consumed dishes such as rice bowls with local meat, ramen noodles and Somen noodles kneaded with olive oil and fruits. There is also a natural hot spring where visitors can enjoy herbal baths, and lodging facilities such as a lodge. Known as the "birthplace of olives in Japan," about 2,000 olives are still cultivated here. Visitors can learn about the history of olives at the Olive Memorial Museum.
