MINORI GELATO is a popular shop serving gelato made with Shodoshima-grown ingredients out of a retro-chic kominka-style house just steps from the Kusakabe Port bus stop.
In addition to the all-time favorite flavors like milk, chocolate and pistachio, you can find as many as 10-15 flavors at anytime including seasonal exclusive tastes like citrus, strawberry and kiwi made with ripe citrus, strawberries and kiwi. There’s even exclusive Shodoshima flavors made with local olives or honey. Of all the gelato flavors, the Shoyu Crumble, made with Shodoshima Shoyu soy sauce, a No. 1 crowd favorite with a light salty-sweetness. You can order as many as 3-flavors at once, perfect for anyone who cannot pick from all the options.
Gelato can be ordered for take out or for in-store dining, set inside the stylish interior of a former rice storehouse. With plenty of items to try like drinks, coffee, or the Shio Sable Sandwich, made with gelato pressed between two salted Sable wafers, it’s a perfect place to visit while waiting for the bus.
