Established in the Taisho era in 1918, Yahiko Park is conveniently situated just a short walk from JR Yahiko Station. Spanning a vast area of approximately 40,000 tsubo in size, or roughly 132231㎡, the park offers visitors a taste of traditional Japanese scenery. With its rich landscapes and serene ambience, it's a favorite destination for both local residents and tourists alike.

The park boasts diverse landscapes, with features such as tunnels, waterfalls, and streams. Among these, the "Momiji Valley" stands out for its popularity. It's renowned for its autumn colors, where the crimson-tinted trees juxtaposed against the vermilion Kangetsukyo Bridge create a truly breathtaking view. Come evening, the area is illuminated, transforming the scene into a mesmerizing, dreamy landscape. The view of the Momiji Valley from inside a tunnel made from Mount Fuji's lava is also a picturesque sight. The park attracts numerous visitors in spring when about 1,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino and double-flowered varieties, bloom. Early summer is equally captivating, as fireflies emitting faint glows dart around in the darkness.

Apart from seasonal flora, the park also houses the Yushi Shrine, believed to be the origin of Yahiko Hot Spring, and playground equipment for children, making it a recommended spot for leisurely strolls. After a fulfilling walk, visitors can relax at the free footbath "Yunowa" located at the station plaza.
