Oguma Shoten
Enjoy ultra-fresh seafood bowls you can only find inside the market.
Oguma Shoten is a seafood rice bowl specialty shop inside Nijo Market, Sapporo’s beloved pantry for over 100 years. Focused on freshness, the seafood toppings are sourced in small batches almost daily. Seating is limited to just seven counter seats set close enough to peek into the kitchen. In a classic, old-school style, the head chef may even hand dishes directly to guests, creating a warm, homey atmosphere.
The signature dish is the “Recommended Bowl.” It features four chef-picked toppings-saltwater fresh uni, house-made salmon roe, bluefin tuna, and salmon-plus a set of ara-jiru (fish bone miso soup) made with locally caught Hokkaido fish, making it a great value. Also not to miss: the luxurious “Fresh Uni & Ikura & Crab Bowl,” topped with three of Hokkaido’s most popular seafoods. It was also featured on the cover of the 2023 edition of Rurubu Sapporo.
There are 20+ menu options, including a “Fresh Uni Bowl” made generously with saltwater fresh uni (not tray-packed uni), and the “Special 8-Topping Platter,” which lets you enjoy eight different kinds of seafood.
