Yokohama Chinatown Ichiraku
A long-established restaurant with around 100 years of history, offering a casual way to enjoy distinctive dishes from regions across China.
Founded in 1926, Ichiraku is a long-standing Chinese restaurant in Yokohama Chinatown with nearly a century of history. Rooted in Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine while incorporating elements from Shanghai, Beijing, and other regions of China, the restaurant offers a traditional yet diverse dining experience.
Guests can enjoy seasonal specialties prepared with Chinese techniques-such as bamboo shoots in spring, mushrooms in autumn, and oysters in winter-through the Shunsai Course. There are also numerous other courses to choose from, including menus featuring whole braised shark fin or Peking duck, catering to different preferences and budgets. At lunchtime, weekday-only set meals are especially popular. The à la carte menu is equally abundant, ranging from classics to reservation-only specials and dim sum. A standout dish is the charcoal-grilled char siu, made with carefully selected domestic pork marinated overnight in a house-made sauce-highly recommended as a take-home souvenir.
The restaurant offers a casual first floor with table seating, a second floor with round tables and a rotating center perfect for group dining, and private rooms on the third floor for a quieter, more refined atmosphere.
