Since its establishment in the 4th year of the Bunka era (1807) during the late Edo period, this renowned store has been devoted exclusively to eel. Even after transitioning through six eras - Edo, Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa - the store continues to be celebrated for its exquisitely grilled eels, each piece cooked with meticulous care, just as in the past.

The "Unaju" (eel rice bowl), prepared with a secret sauce passed down through generations since the founding, is known for its perfect combination of fluffy, fragrantly grilled eel and rice soaked in the sauce. The menu also offers a variety of dishes such as "Shirayaki" (plain grilled eel) that allows you to enjoy the pure taste of eel, "Yanagawa" (eel and loach cooked with egg), and the refreshing "Uzaku" (eel and cucumber salad), making it ideal to pair with drinks.

The three-story wooden building, constructed in the early Taisho period, exudes a nostalgic charm and has been designated as a significant urban landscape building by Kawagoe City. The first floor is barrier-free, ensuring accessibility for the elderly and those with strollers.
